Welcome from Mrs. Reno
November 09, 2007
Welcome to Olney High School, recognized as a Recognized campus by the Texas Education Agency for the 2006-2007 school year. Our hope is that every child in our care can have a rewarding, meaningful and safe high school experience. Olney High School is a Class 2A, serving a population of approximately 205 students in grades 9-12.
Our school provides an excellent academic, extra-curricular and technological environment. Students are provided numerous opportunities to be involved in a rich academic curriculum, fine arts, vocational, and athletic programs. Advanced technology is evidenced with three updated computer labs, one mobile laptop lab, and two distance learning labs. Students can obtain as many as 26 hours of dual-credit coursework. Advanced Placement and internet classes are also offered to students.
Each athletic program, girls and boys, (football, cross country, basketball, track, baseball, softball, and golf) competed beyond the district level degree of competition last year. The girls’ cross-country team, members of the girls and boys track teams, and girls’ golf team were state qualifiers.
We set high expectations for our students, while providing numerous avenues of support to those that find our curriculum rigorous. Daily tutoring provided by teachers and a built-in enrichment program on Friday afternoons are offered to students.
At Olney High School, our teachers don’t make the difference, they ARE the difference. I am proud of our faculty and am thankful for their dedication and commitment to excellence and learning for all students.
