High School: Enrichment Program

Mandatory Enrichment Program

Olney High School
704 West Groves
Olney, Texas 76378

2009-2010 Olney High School Mandatory Enrichment Program

In order to assist our students who are in need of academic support, we have incorporated an
enrichment time in our schedule. This enrichment time will run from 2:20-3:20 each Friday and will be mandatory for students who:

Fail one or more portions of the required state testing
Fail to meet a standard of 70 or above on academic course-work
Fail to meet attendance requirements

If a student fails more than one required section of the state testing, he or she will be placed in the enrichment program for the section in which he or she needs to obtain the most improvement.

Students will be assigned to a particular teacher for enrichment, and roll will be taken each Friday.

Any student who is not required to attend enrichment class, but wishes to receive extra help, will be allowed to sit in the enrichment time; provided, he or she is not a discipline problem.

If a student who is required to attend enrichment does not attend, he or she will receive an unexcused absence. The student will be considered truant and the appropriate disciplinary action will be taken up to and including filing charges against the student and parent in municipal court for failure to attend school.

Be aware all students will return to school after lunch until 2:16. Please see the bell schedule
