A Word from Mr. Dunlap
By Terry Dunlap
On behalf of the faculty and staff welcome to Olney Junior High,
a TEA Recognized Campus for the 2008-2009 school year. We strive to
provide a rich and challenging academic program that is enriched
with the latest technology and strategies. Our academic programs
are balanced with extracurricular activities that allow our
students to participate in athletics, UIL Academics, band 4-H and
FFA. Students are also encouraged to strengthen their leadership
skills through student government. Our motto is “good enough is not
good enough if it can be better.. better is not good enough if it
can be the best”.
Olney Junior High provides numerous support programs throughout the
day to assist out students in meeting the high expectations set out
by the teacher. OJH also offers Dyslexia classes, ESL program and
classroom assistance for our students.
Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education.
Teachers are available throughout the day and after school to talk
with you about any concerns pertaining to your student. Feel free
to call the office and set up an appointment. Teachers can be
reached by e-mail anytime.
The teachers and staff at OJH are committed to ensure that our
students receive a quality and rewarding education to prepare them
for their world.
